Founded in a small office in West Palm Beach, FL, JVCE LLC started as a one-woman operation. Our Principal and founder, Julie Vers, PE, had a vision to create a structural engineering firm that prioritized our clients while promoting innovation, collaboration, and exceptional professional service. JVCE LLC is a certified DBE*, SBE/WBE firm. Julie brings 26 years' structural engineering and project management experience to the team. Her passion for solving structural engineering challenges took her on a journey through a prolific and diverse career as a consultant engineer and project manager for some of the country's top firms as rated by ENR.
JVCE has significant experience in state, county, municipal, and private projects, both traditional delivery and alternative delivery, including project management and structural design/rehabilitation of: bridges; overhead sign support structures and traffic signal mast arm structures; marine structures, retaining walls, various miscellaneous concrete, steel, and wood facilities structures; and structural inspection/condition assessment. Julie has managed a Structures Design Department while concurrently serving as Confirming Engineer for a Bridge Inspection Division.
JVCE has extensive experience in computer applications for structural design and analysis including, MathCad, IES Visual Analysis, SkyCiv, STAAD, CONSPAN, DESCUS I, MDX, FB-Pier, L-Pile, ET-Pier, FDOT Box Culvert Program, FDOT Span Sign Program, FDOT Mast Arm Program, Tekla Tedds, StruCalc, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
The JVCE team has worked with CTDOT, CTDEP, FDOT, RIDOT, NYSDOT, MassDoT, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX), Palm Beach County, Broward County, Broward County Aviation Department, Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, City of South Miami, City of Coral Gables, City of Doral, City of Palm Coast, Florida Power & Light, South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), NYC Metropolitan Transportation Agency (MTA), Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), prime consultants, architects, developers, contractor, and private owners.
JVCE has professional engineers licensed in Florida, Georgia, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maine.
*Our Florida Unified Certification Program DBE Certificate of Eligibility includes: FDOT, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, Lee County Port Authority, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, Tampa International Airport, City of Tallahassee and Votran. We are also DBE-certified with the States of Connecticut, Georgia and New York.
